We can choose to spend our time, or pass our time.
Spending is on purpose, it’s a choice, it doesn’t happen by accident.
Passing just happens. We don’t decide. Time passes whether we decide what to do with it or not.
So will you choose to spend your time, or pass your time?
And when you choose, what are getting in return for all those hours?
Spending doesn’t have to equal productivity.
You can choose to spend time lying on the grass staring at the night sky. And what do you get in return for choosing to spend your time that way? Well, maybe you get relaxation, maybe you get imagination, maybe you get the benefits of being idle.
A lot of social media is passing the time. Not all, but a lot. You can easily pass 30 minutes on your default social network, and most of the time you’ll just wonder where the time went.
