But not like Buzz Lightyear…

Once you recognise the value of the experience economy, and you’ve decided to start adding experience design into your interactions, at some point you’ll need to try something you haven’t tried before.
In fact, that’s the definition; everytime you try something new = something you haven’t tried before.
The difference with the experiences you’re designing is that they’re for someone other than you; your customer, your team, someone.
And because it’s new, it might not work. It might not be perfect. It almost certainly won’t be.
And so you need to watch and learn. Ask why X happened when you expected Y to happen? Ask how you can make it better next time? Try and figure out what story is going inside the head of the person you are aiming to delight at the moment you run your intervention.
